UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping countries eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and exclusion, and achieve sustainable development. UNDP works to integrate issues of climate, disaster risk and energy at the country level, and focuses on building resilience and ensuring that development remains risk-informed and sustainable. We are working in partnership with governments, private sector and civil society to address the challenges of climate change and remain the largest service provider in the UN system on climate change adaptation and mitigation. Our work on climate finance aims to help countries achieve the simultaneous eradication of poverty and significant reduction of inequalities and exclusion, by catalyzing environmental finance for sustainable development. UNDP has been ranked the most transparent development organization by the AID Transparency Index for two consecutive years and coordinates the work of the UN System in each country. UNDP also administers the UN Capital Development Fund, which helps developing countries grow their economies by supplementing existing sources of capital assistance by means of grants and loans.
